The experience
The Oil Museum is located in Cisano, a hamlet of Bardolino, a municipality on the east coast of Lake Garda. The museum, called a farm museum, was established in 1988 at the behest of Umberto Turri, one of the most important olive oil producers in the area. Inside the museum, you can see a number of tools and objects used by rural people in the area for olive oil production, containers and ampoules for its use.
Through audio-visual reproductions, it will be possible to see how the machinery was used, following a chronological path leading from the 18th century to the early 20th century.
Among the most impressive tools inside the museum are an oak lever press and a water-powered wheel press still in working order.
Adjacent to the museum, there is also a store where oil and other products derived from olive trees can be purchased.
