On the occasion of 2024, the year of Roots Tourism, first event for Italea Veneto. A conference on the use of archives to be held on Tuesday 16 April 2024 at the Council Chamber of Sant’Artemio of the Province of Treviso (Via Cal di Breda 116).
Anyone who tries to reconstruct their family history on their own or with the help of specialized people, genealogists, goes in search of ancient documents preserved in public, private or ecclesiastical archives.
However, the criteria for their use are not always the same between various areas of Italy, such as the payment of different secretarial fees. Thanks to the intervention of experts in the field, Italea Veneto will try to deepen the issue, providing useful suggestions at a national level for the resolution of problems that have emerged from those who visit the archives every day.
Particular attention will also be given to some projects for the digitization of documents, examples that have improved the conservation and use of the same registers.
